Organizational Resilience and Crisis Management Capabilities: A Conceptual and Strategic Analysis
Abstract
In the face of an ever more volatile and uncertain business environment, organizations face a broad range of disruptions such as economic crises, technological breakdowns, pandemics, and geopolitical issues. Organizational resilience and crisis management capabilities have become key factors in determining organizational survival, adaptability, and performance. The purpose of the current study is to examine the conceptual bases, dimensions, and interrelationship between organizational resilience and crisis management capabilities. The study is based on the conceptual-analytical methodology with the support of secondary data. The study attempts to present a conceptual framework that combines the dimensions of anticipation, coping, and adaptation capabilities with the phases of crisis preparedness, response, and recovery. The study also attempts to present hypotheses relating the dimensions of resilience with organizational performance and crisis management outcomes. The study findings revealed that organizations that develop their capabilities in building resilience can effectively manage crises and turn disruptions into opportunities for innovation and development.
